Learn a new language with Mango Languages online language-learning system for free through the Athens Regional Library System. Mango is available in two flavors, Mango Complete, a 100-lesson course that is designed to provide a deep understanding of a language and its culture and Mango Basic, which teaches everyday greetings, goodbyes and helpful phrases. Two English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are also available in Chinese and Spanish. Student Art Competition - Win up to $1,000!
This competition is sponsored for the purpose of selecting original artwork that may be used to create signature items for sale at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia Gift Shop, such as note cards, T-shirts, scarves, mugs and mouse pads. New Bike Trail at East Athens Community Park
The new mountain bike trail at East Athens Community Park is now open. The trail, built by Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association volunteers, is 1.7 miles in length and includes two loops along with a small connecting path. More than 1,000 volunteer hours went into developing the trail. There are plans to extend the trail around the northwest corner of the park to total about four miles. The trail is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset and is located near the Trail Creek entrance in the park. East Athens Community Park
