Storytubes Video Contest, January 20 - February 20
Join kids from across the country by making a short video about your favorite book and posting it online. Use the online form to enter the contest, watch past winners and check out the official rules at http://storytubes.info/drupal/. Need help? Do the Zoo!
Don’t just see the Zoo; do the Zoo! See over 1,000 of the world’s most amazing animals AND enjoy exciting daily activities like keeper talks, training demonstrations, wildlife shows, and up-close-and-personal animal encounters. Gorilla and orangutan feedings run at 2 p.m. and 2:45 daily; check Zoo map for other animal feedings and opportunities available every day. Cost: Free with the price of general admission. HandsOn Northeast Georgia’s Family Serve program is a way to bring families together to build a better community. Family Serve provides an opportunity for families to spend time together while teaching the value of service learning to children of all ages. Wildlife Art Contest
Showcase your artistic abilities! All students welcome to submit original hand-drawn wildlife art for the annual spring contest. Prizes awarded in different age categories. Guidelines and other information can be obtained by stopping by Bear Hollow Zoo or calling 706-613-3616. Art must be submitted by Friday, March 9, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Fee: $5 ACC resident and $8 Non- resident per piece of art, limit 3 pieces of art per student. Regisation Required: Call 706-613-3580

Join the Oconee County Library Birthday Book Club! Donate a book from the library wish list for your birthday and we’ll add it to our collection with a bookplate that has your name in it. Learn a Foreign Language with at the Library
Powerspeak Languages is a resource designed to build proficiency in Spanish, French, German, Mandarin Chinese and English for Spanish. The courses use a variety of multi-sensory activities for a diverse audience. Powerspeak is available to ARLS library patrons in the library or from home.
